Ever since Pokémon Go by Niantic has launched, the game has been attaining newer heights every day. To ensure that this part of the Pokémon franchise keeps soaring, Niantic has now acquired Evertoon – a social animation development company.

The details of the deal are not yet known, so there is no official price tag to be reported. However, what we do know is that the acquisition will help Niantic push a more social platform to a group of their games.

According to the statement issued by Evertoon, some of the titles that will be affected are Ingress and Pokémon Go. Asides from the social infrastructure, the purchase also covers the bringing in of engineering leadership from Evertoon to contribute to the success of Niantic.

As part of this move, there is some sad news for the users of the Evertoon social media platform. From the 30th of November, the social media platform will be put on ‘offline mode.’ All community aspects will also be disabled.

However, as long as users have the latest update of the app, they will still be able to create new content
