From what looked like a slow start, the Tokyo Game Show 2017 is already shaping up to be the best yet. Haha. Don’t we always say that every year?
Well, if you happen to be a fan of the Umihara Kawase franchise, you will be excited as much as we are now. According to a poster that can be seen around the centre where TGS has called home for this year, we have reason to believe there is going to be a third instalment of this series.
Simply reading “The latest entry in the series,” the game poster which was hoisted at the booth of Success Corporation all but confirms the coming of a new title. For now, though, it seems this one would be played on the Nintendo Switch, since the poster doesn’t mention any other consoles that might be involved.
Excluding all the ports and compilations of this game that has come over the years, this would be counted as the fourth title to hit the market. Starting its journey into the world of gaming in the year 1994, the game enjoyed a sequel (Umihara Kawase Shun) for PlayStation consoles in the year 1997 (so it’s probably older than some of the gamers in the house. Lol).
The sad news was that none of these titles were optimised and localised for the western audience.
When the third title did come, the west was shown some love. That was three years ago, and all of the titles can now be obtained from Steam. Since localisation has been in the agenda of the game developers, it is safe to say the new title would also be reaching a wide audience.
